Michigan Trip – Day 4 – Traverse City/West Coastline

September 6, 2024 – Today we traveled from Mackinac City to Traverse City in Michigan. On the way, we drove along the western Michigan shoreline. We visited several of the beachfronts, but most were very cold and rainy.

One of the towns we went through was Petosky. On the shoreline, it is well known that you could find what they call, a Petosky Stone. It had a unique shape and had hexagonal shapes all over it. They were very valuable if you were to buy one. We looked on several of the shores where there were lots of rocks, but to no avail.

It was a very, very cold and wet day.

During our Lake Michigan shoreline travels, we went through an area called the Tunnel of Trees. Here’s some pictures of that area…
