Michigan Trip – Day 2 – St. Ignace, MI
September 4, 2024 – Our 2nd day on our trip to Michigan started about 10am after breakfast at the hotel. We traveled about 400 miles and 7 hours to reach St. Ignace, Michigan. This is a town where the ferry was located to go across Lake Huron to Mackinaw Island. We stayed at a Budget Host Inn & Suites. It was not as nice as several people rated it online when I reserved it. We were scheduled to stay 2 nights there, but arranged for us to stay at a nicer hotel, just across the bridge in Mackinac City. We at supper at a local pub called The Buoys By The Bay. Food was delicious.
After supper, we strolled around town and went out to the lighthouse. Saw some otters swimming around the water, and some looms flying around. It was a small lighthouse and could not go in it. After walking, we decided to get desert at a local ice cream place called Molly Moo’s Ice Cream Parlor. Renee got ice cream and I got a milk shake. So good! Tomorrow we hop on a ferry to travel to Mackinaw Island.
