Alaska Trip Day 15 – Lake Louise/Lake Moraine

We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant before heading out. It was all good. We drove to the parking area for Lake Louise, only to find it full. Checked in with the Visitor’s Center, and their shuttles were booked through tomorrow. But they did suggest some more expensive options with 3rd party shuttle companies. We contacted the “cheapest” shuttle company and they fortunately had a couple openings leaving around 1:30pm today.

It was the best thing we did. They also provided us a shuttle to/from Lake Moraine later today. The water in these lakes were gorgeous. It was a deep blue/green color and the sky reaching mountains that surrounded the lakes was awesome. Here are some of our pictures of Lake Louise.

After spending almost 2 hours at Lake Louise, we got onto a shuttle to Lake Moraine. These two lakes are the most visited in the Banff National Park. They are similiar in that the water color is so blue. I believe Lake Moraine was even more blue than Lake Louise. We thought about going canoeing on the lake, but the wind was pretty strong. Even strong enough that they closed the canoeing for about 30 minutes during one wind occurance. Here are some pictures…

More to come…
