NE Trip Day 16 – Visit Kennebunkport, Maine

We left the campground around 9:30am to travel to Kennebunkport, about 30 minutes away. First stop was an old Episcopal Church that was made out of stone.

Then we drove by the Bush compound… the collection of homes of the Bush family when vacationing in Maine. Estate was owned by the first President George Bush, and passed down. The flag was flying at the estate, meaning some of the Bush family was actually there! This view is across the bay from the large estate.

We did some shopping in downtown Kennebunkport and got some dinner at a little sandwich shop. Then we went by a strange house called the Wedding Cake House.

Next we visited the famous Nubble Lighthouse in York, just outside of town. It was located on an island and still is in operation. Some think it is the most photographed lighthouse.

Then we did some hiking at the Cliff Walk. Some gorgeous views of the rocky shores.

Once we returned back to the campgound, Renee fixed taco soup and everyone joined in.
