NC Trip Day 12 – Downtown Charleston

We traveled about 30 minutes to downtown Charleston. We visited several shops and viewed several of the residential homes, and some of the old mansions that had been there for many years.

We decided to eat lunch as a little pub downtown named The Griffon Pub. It was a really neat place. All over the walls and ceilings was money stapled to the walls. The original owner’s name was Cash. They decided to put cash all over and over the years, the walls filled up and they started putting it on the ceiling. It was wild. Food was great.

After lunch, we travelled to the waterfront area. Many of the old mansions were located there. Across the water we saw an aircraft carrier called USS Yorktown.

After the walk, we got back into the car and went across a really neat bridge.

Again, we did a lot of walking today. Returned to the campground and rested the rest of the day. Preparing to leave in the morning, on our way back home.
